Companion-Butterick 2196; ca. early 1940s; Women's and Misses' Two-Piece Suit. A precisely tailored two-piece suit: three button, notch collared jacket. A trim fit about the hipline is insured by the slot seam treatment. Slim, six-gored skirt. In the second version the jacket, in contrast, has a flattering link button closing.
