Women's and Misses' Two-Piece Slack Suit
From the pattern envelope:
For your life in the country or suburbs ...for sports occasions or for leisure hours a tailors two-piece slack suit. The jacket has a three button closing, reverse collar and patch pockets. Cardigan version, View B. Slim tapered slacks.
Of interest to the history buff: The stamp on the envelope about the "Wartime Prices and Trade Board" - Instituted by the Canadian Government in 1939, but not given any powers until 1941, the WPTB 's purpose was to control wages, prices, and the distribution of goods to help fight inflation. This board was disbanded after the second War (in 1945). My best guess is that the view highlighted requires yardage in excess of the recommended amount. . .
Butterick 2901, early 1940's
