Butterick 5368; ca. 1969; Dress with front and back scoop neckline has purchased fold-over braid. Dress front extends to side back with ribbon closing. Back, with waistline seam, wraps to front with buckle closing.
This is the original Whirl Away Dress, Butterick's 60s version of their own wildly popular Walk-Away Dress of the 1950s (see Butterick 6015).
