Le Roy Patterns – Associated British Paper Patterns, Ltd., Bletchley, Bucks. Patterns were published under different names like Le Roy Patterns, Le Roy, Le-Roy Weldons and Le-Roy Weldons Printed Patterns (Source: Kevin L. Seligman, Cutting for All! The Sartorial Arts, Related Crafts, and the Commercial Paper Pattern, 1996)

Le Roy patterns were launched in 1954. A press article in late 1953 announced that, for the first time in years, new paper patterns were coming on to the market, and would be in the shops in January. The new Le Roy patterns were “entirely British and cover the kind of clothes are essential to our way of life”. Prices were to range from 1/9 to 2/9, and there would be patterns for both the 5’2” woman and “really smart designs” for larger sizes. Readers were encouraged to look out for the Le Roy catalogue in the New Year for “the simple, yet elegant styles that have been created specially with the British woman in mind”  -- Source: Coatbridge Leader, Saturday 28th November 1953.
