Fashion Blueprints No. 114; ©1982; Unisex Tsumugi Hippari - a Japanese Traditional Work Shirt. This traditional wrap garment is the "work" shirt of Japan. The Hippari is an authentic design, offers funcional, comfortable good looks that have been time tested over the centuries. Combined with jeans or a skirt, this hippari is an attractive casual top or overblouse. This loose fitting top is truly a one-size-fits-all garment. Interior and exterior ties allow the wearer to adjust the garment to fit a small frame (32" chest) up to a larger build (42" chest). The small person is not overwhelmed with bulk, yet the larger person can expand the body of the garment to fit his/her needs. Examples of Japanese design motifs are included to customize your garment.
