Simplicity 2223; ©1947; Misses' and Women's Daytime and Evening Skirt with Detachable Peplum: The skirt, cut in four sections, is fitted with darts at the front and back waistline and shaped at the lower front edge. A waist band finishes the skirt. In Styles I and II, the detachable peplum joins to a waist band from which tied ends extend and form a knot at the center front.
