Simplicity 4242; ca. 1942; Misses' and Women's Dress. The bodice, fashioned with a slash neck opening, is gathered to the bias cut skirt at the natural waistline under a belt. Style 1, made with long sleeves, has a button link fastening at the neck and rows of top-stitching trim the neckline, belt, skirt hem and sleeves. Style II, with short sleeves, is attractively finished with ribbon bands on the skirt and sleeves. A purchased belt is used.
