This photo is from the Fall-Winter 1952-53 issue of MCCALL'S NEEDLEWORK. Description from the magazine: "The early bird catches the worm" on the skirt of her pert striped cotton school dress! Contrast jacket. Sizes 4-10. Pattern, blue transfer, 45 cents.

The child is holding a Sweet Sue doll in a "matching" dress made with McCall's 1720 pattern.
