McCall's 8236; ©1966; Helen Lee - Child's Dress in Three Versions with Transfer for Smocking. High waisted dress with back buttoned bodice and two section skirt, may be sleeveless or have short or three-quarter length set-in sleeves. Bodice front is bias for sleeveless dress and length-wise for three-quarter length sleeved dress and bodice is lined. Skirt is gathered to bodice back, smocked to bodice front and smocking is embroidered on Views B and C. Back tie belt is included in side seams. Neck and armholes of sleeveless dress are bound with bias self fabric and dress has bound bias pocket. Short sleeves are gathered in armholes and to contrast cuffs and gathered lace or eyelet edging is included in collar and cuff facing seams and applied above and smocking. Longer sleeves have elastic in casings forming ruffles. Contrast piping is included in collar facing seams and ribbon bow tacked to neck.
