A849

Prominent Designer A849; ca. 1959; Sagardoy - Misses' and Women's Half Size Dress

Fitted coat dress with straight skirt, front princess seams, wide notched collar, front button closing, short or three-quarter sleeves, front side pocket flaps, back attached belt with button.

“From Paris to you -- all the finesse of fit and dramatic details of the Haute Couture in this Bernard Sagardoy's inspired, new design for half-sizes. The shape is a marvel of flattery for the shorter-waisted, more ample figure -- the midriff curved and darted to give a lean and graceful figure; the collar cut in newest Regency line; the back elegantly detailed with soft, dressmaker folds above a half-belt. Duplicate the chic, shape and fit of this import as they were in the original in an embroidered linen -- or use surah, shantung, sheer wool checked worsted. Imagine then, Sagardoy -- from his doorway at 13 RUE WASHINGTON in Paris applauding you! Printed Pattern AS49 (a Paris Original) is available in Half-Sizes” (as stated in Independent Star-News, January 4, 1959)
