Simplicity 1770; ca. 1940s; Misses and Women's Two-Piece Dress with Lowered Armhole. The top is dart-fitted at the front and back waistline. The peplum, which joins the top at the natural waistline, is dart-fitted at the back. The asymmetrical front closing achieves a high collarless neckline. In Style I, the bracelet sleeves are gathered to bands and a purchased belt finishes the waistline. Style II is made with long, fitted sleeves and a self-fabric belt. Pattern pieces are printed.
