Simplicity 1947; ca. 1947; CHILDREN’S AND GIRLS’ PLAY SUIT AND SKIRT: The back-buttoning play suit, fitted with darts, has shoulder straps which are gathered at the ends. The shorts are jointed to the top by a front inset belt and a back waistline seam. A patch pocket trimmed with an applied band, finishes the shorts. The gathered skirt has tie ends that are cut in one with the waist band. In style I, embroidered edging trims the patch pockets and top. Style II features rick-rack trimming. Style III has embroidery and applique, for which a transfer is included.
