Vintage 1940s dress pattern from Penelope Rose

Simplicity 3097; ©1949; Misses' One-Piece Dress:  Fullness is released in the front-buttoning bodice from gathers at the waistline and below the shoulder yoke in back and from the forward shoulder seam in front. A shaped shawl collar is an additional feature. A double inverted pleat in front softens the otherwise slim skirt. A double pocket puts emphasis at either hip and a self or purchased belt encircles the waist.  In Style 1 the long sleeves have turned-back cuffs fastened with link buttons. Saddle-stitching is used as trimming.  Short sleeves are featured in Style 2.
