Simplicity 4972; ©1944; Misses' and Women's House Dress and Housecoat: The bodice is fitted with darts and the skirt is styled with soft front gathers. Style I buttons down the front and the low, round neckline and vertical pockets are trimmed with lace edging. The short, puffed sleeves and neck edge are bound. Style III is the long version of Style I. Style II, fashioned with a heart-shaped neckline, buttons to the waist and the simulated fly front is open from the waist to the hip. Graduated ruffling trims the bodice.
