Simplicity 5501; ©1973; Misses' Dress: The dress with pleated skirt stitched to bodice below normal waistline has back zipper, back yoke forming forward shoulder seams, bias roll collar and optional purchased belt. Dress may be worn with self fabric tie slipped thru opening in neck seam. V. 1 & 2 have long set-in sleeves gathered to buttoned cuffs. V. 2 is of border fabric. Sleeveless v. 3 has contrasting skirt.

Suggested fabrics: Double knit, jersey, matte jersey, crepe, challis, silk shantung, silk linen, soft lightweight wool, wool homespun, wool gabardine, wool flannel. View 1 and 3 also in linen, surah, printed silk, pique. Notions: Thread, seam binding or stretch lace, 22" neckline zipper, belt (optional). View 1 & 2: Two 1/2" buttons.
