Simplicity 8106 wiki

Simplicity Designer's 8106; ca. 1949; Misses' Afternoon and Dinner Dress. The shawl-like effect of the low décolleté is achieved by means of a draped piece of material around the shoulders. This leads to the center button closing which, in Version A, extends past the belt into a tapering tunic-effect which ends at the side seams. In Version B, the buttons end at the long sash around the waist, and the slim skirt is plain. In both versions, the shawl provides the draped cap sleeve.

Featured in Simplicity catalog, July 1949 and in Simplicity Fashion Preview, July 1949
