Simplicity Designers' 8113; ©1949; Misses' and Women's 2-Piece Tailored Suit. This four-gore jacket without side seams achieves the fitted effect by means of the two front and two back seams and darts at the sides. The main feature of this suit is pointed pockets on each side. The skirt is a six-gore skirt with a side pleat at the left of the center front panel. Version A has a shawl collar cut in one with the front. Version B has no collar, but a bias banding edges the neckline in the front.
Featured on the cover of Simplicity Pattern Book, Fall-Winter 1949 (available as a poster from Simplicity).
