The Empire effect of this dress is achieved by raising the skirt to a line just below the bust, from which point the six-button center closing begins. The deep V-neck extends to this point. There is draping at either side of the front to provide fullness for the bust, and similar draping at each side of the skirt gives a moderate peg-top effect. Version A has a belt, while version B is to be worn without the belt.
