Simplicity 8985; ©1979; Misses' Two-Piece Dress and Tie Belt: Skirt has elastic waistline casing. Top gathered to stand-up collar has front band button closing, raglan sleeves, tie belt and optional top-stitching. V. 1 has long sleeves with buttoned cuffs. V. 2 has pockets and short sleeves with turn-back cuffs.
Fabrics: Lightweight linen, silk types, crepe, challis, soft cotton types. Extra fabric needed to match plaids, stripes, one-way designs. Use nap yardage and nap layouts for one-way design fabrics. Not suitable for obvious diagonal fabrics. Notions: Thread, seam binding or stretch lace. Top v.1: Nine 1/2" buttons. Top v.2: Seven 1/2" buttons. Printed in Misses' sizes 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20.
