Spadea 1191; ©1958; Ceil Chapman - The Body Beautiful is the main interest of Ceil Chapman, and she sticks to her ideas whether she be dreaming up a gorgeous ball gown or a simple daytime tailored model such as this. The body of this model lends itself to sizes up to 20 (the V neck is part of this), but is equally good for size 12s - was one of the biggest sellers in a recent collection. The envelope-fold pockets on bodice and skirt do a marvelous and wondrous trick of minimizing the tummy while emphasizing the bosom which, from a style viewpoint, is necessary in all sizes. As easy to sew as it is to wear, it was originally made in gray flannel with linen collar and cuffs. In twee or any of the wools, it is the perfect way to start the fall. In faille or crepe it is an ideal casual afternoon dress.
