Spadea 69; ca. late 1960s or early 1970s; Duchess of Windsor - Misses' Dress. All the fashion-world words could be used to describe this design from the Duchess of Windsor - chic, elegant and on and on. We just call it stroke of genius. The panel wrapped across the back fastens on one shoulder. It hangs perfectly straight when motion-less but with any movement it curves and floats out gently. Long, subtly flared sleeves are great news for evenings this year and necessary for the short coat-dress version. Whether you like it short or long, its dramatic and pure lines are classic.
