SpadeaA2148 SpA2148

Spadea A-2148; 1950s; Ben Barrack - Misses' Dress. This perfect example of how successfully a design can appear to slim the wearer’s waist and lengthen her torso starts with a smooth fitting bodice, crossed low on a slant and buttoned on the double. Its graceful skirt bells into pretty pleated fullness over the hips.

Reissued in 1963 with a different envelope and stating "Extremely pretty party dress with a double buttoned surplice bodice, making the neck seem longer, the midriff flatter. The skirt with a group of pleats at the sides, both front and back. Seems to minimize the hips."
