Stretch & Sew 817; ©1986; Infant Dress and Christening Gown.  Pattern and instructions for infant dress (sizes newborn - 24 months) and christening gown (newborn size ONLY).  One pattern -- many looks -- with instructions written for sewing machines and sergers.  View A infants' dress buttons down the back and has a lined yoke with Peter Pan collar and short or long puffed sleeves with encased elastic.  Matching panties are included.  Lace trim is optional on collar, yoke and sleeves on dress, and legs on panties.  Collar and sleeves may be cut from contrast fabric.  View B christening gown is designed for lace fabric with a lined yoke and skirt.  Narrow lace trims the collarless neckline, short sleeves, and ruffle at lower edge of gown.  Satin bows attach at the yoke.  Bonnet is also designed for lace fabric with lining.  Narrow lace trims the front and neck edges, satin ribbon forms the ties.  Panties are from lining fabric.
