Superior 6679; ca. 1940s; Quoted from the pattern instruction sheet (no description on envelope): Teen Princess Frock. Oh very flip - this broad-shouldered princess frock buttoning from the neckline to the hem." [sic]
Check off the rounded tailored collar, those form-defining ‘de-vine’ lines and you’ll find that you have the makings of a frock that will please your boss, your beau or your bio ‘prof’! For a surprise idea, point-up the squared-off shoulder line and front waistlines with sweet and dainty ruffle edging or other trim. Use whichever length sleeve pleases – short or three-quarter. [sic]
Choose checked gingham in red, white and blue checks with white eyelet edging and pearl buttons for a tubbable [sic] summertime version. You’ll find polka-dotted spun rayon of lime with coin-sized white dots very effective. A fancy-taking sea life print of black on pastel blue or pink grounds will make a pretty picture. Cocoa brown or navy blue shantung will show off nicely with tiny pearl buttons sewn all around the shoulder yokes and sparkling down the front. Aqua eyelet embroidered cotton is always feminine and dressy. For your fall or winter wardrobe use thin wool crepe or rayon gabardine in pastels. Try smart gray flannel with a zing of scarlet grosgrain piping. [sic]
