Vogue1200b

Vogue Paris Original 1200; ©1952; ONE PIECE DRESS. Circular skirt without side seams joins the bodice in an uneven line. Bodice fronts tie in knot, draping the bust fullness softly. Slide fastener closing at centre-back, built up neck-line. Long, kimono sleeves with gussets at underarm.

"This is one of Griffe’s pet silhouettes: the waist that starts high, with a knot just under the bosom, dips deeply in back, over a serene width of skirt. The original, in brown wool; very elegant too in black silk." (from Vogue, October 15, 1952)
