Vogue 1734

Vogue Paris Original 1734; ca. 1978; Christian Dior - Misses' Coat and Dress. Loose-fitting, slightly shaped, double-breasted, lined coat (can be worn over fitted jacket), four inches below mid-knee, has notched collar, wide lapels, shoulder pads, slanted welt pockets, back waistline seam, overlap back vent and full-length sleeves with mock vent closing. Martingale belt holds in fullness and pleats at back. (Top button and buttonhole are non-functional; decorative buttonhole in left lapel.) Topstitching. Purchased scarf. Semi-fitted dress, four inches below mid-knee or evening length, has front and back pin tucks, round neckline, standing collar extending into tie ends, front-buttoned band closing, elasticized waistline and full-length sleeves gathered into buttoned cuffs. Purchased belt.
