I graduated from La Mirada High School, in California, June 1968. My mother made the Vogue Pattern 1854 designed by Galanos. It was my favorite dress for all the years I had it. It was fully lined, Silk Shantung. The color is not accurate in the picture, but it was a medium brown, a warm earth. with a very slight cast of green and ochre • very slight. I don't have a good view of the gorgeous detail. One, the shoulder buttons, and the pleated side, which conceals a hidden pocket. The cuffs had a 3 - 4 inch slit. This dress was so comfortable and elegant. I felt so classy in it. I spent hours, after school and weekends, leafing through the Vogure pattern catalogues. My date was sweet enough to match, and buy flowers. He had called my mom to get the info! Rest in peace, Greg.
I'm happy to say, I found this on ebay a while back. My favorite dress my mom made it for my high school graduation.
