Vogue 8574; ca. 1940; ONE-PIECE DRESS. One-piece dress with high round neck-line, tucked mid-riff, and flared skirt with gathered back fullness. Criss-cross tucking in the bias blouse front simulates a band and releases into soft fullness below the bust. At the back the tucking is repeated in the band which joins the blouse to the skirt. Four-piece skirt features gathered back fullness and joins the blouse below the tucking. Long darted-top sleeve or short bias sleeve gathered at top and tucked at bottom. Binding finishes the neck-line.
