Vogue 8731; ca. 1940; One-Piece Dress "Easy-To-Make". This one-piece dress features an apron-like panel at front and bloused fullness at waist. The buttoned-front blouse has high collarless neck-line, soft gathered fullness above the front panel, and joins the flared six-gored skirt at side-fronts and back under a novelty or fabric tie belt. Darted-top sleeves may be long and fitted or short with turned-back cuffs. Matching or novelty pleating is optional.
