Vogue 884

Vogue Couturier Design 884; © 1955; Evening Gown. Full length flared and gored skirt joins the bodice back and side front under the separate draped bustle. Bodice front is cut in one with skirt. Shirred detail below the square front neck-line which is a deep V in back. Featured in Vogue Patterns Booklet, November 1955 and in Vogue Pattern Book, December-January 1955-1956

MissMoon55 wrote to Vogue in November 2009 to enquire about the possibility of a Vintage Vogue reissue based on this pattern. Vogue responded promptly and graciously:

"Thank you for your email, your e-mail is being passed onto others in our company. We are
always happy to hear from our home sewers and share in their success.

"However, below pattern cannot be re-published. Many of these designer
licenses are never to be obtained again. Alas, too many legal problems today.
We will be sure to keep the shape in mind for the future. Thanks for sharing."
