Vogue Special Design S-4223; ca. 1940; One-Piece Dress. The tailored dress features the bloused top silhouette and a box-pleated back with stitched detail at the shoulder and hips. The buttoned-front blouse has a convertible collar, dart pleats at front waist, and long fitted or loose bracelet length sleeves. An inset belt joins the blouse to the skirt across the back and tends into a loose tie belt at front. Blouse and skirt fronts seam together at the regulation waistline. Machine stitching outlines the buttoned hip pockets.
