Vogue Special Design S-4588; ©1955; A soft, pretty dress with a wide surplice collar. The skirt is gathered below a yoke in the front, flared in the back. The short-sleeved version would be lovely in a pale-mauve linen or white faille crêpe, drawn with roses. The three-quarter length sleeve version would be smart in a fresh, black-and-white abstract silk print, with a bright silk scarf tucked in the neckline. Or, you copy would be a pink surah print… the neckline filled in with pink-and-crystal beads (from Vogue Pattern Book, April-May 1955)
