Vogue Special Design S-4830; ca. 1947; One-Piece Dress.  Twelve-gored flared skirt joins, bodice at waist-line. Off shoulder neck-line. Long fitted sleeves and short cap sleeves.

Published in Vogue Pattern Book, December 1947: "Tight above the waist; wide full below. The exciting new silhouette to wear from dinner time."
